Agenda for a Prophetic Faith

Forney Charities also seeks to educate the broader community about the current and pressing issues of our day. We do this through sponsorship of the Agenda for a Prophetic Faith conference series, an annual, interfaith program hosted by Progressive Christians Uniting.

Prominent individuals are invited to speak about varied topics of importance. Past speakers have included the following:

1. Dr. James Hansen of NASA – “Global Warming is Here. It is worse than it looks, but there is a way out.”
2. Reverend Romal Tune – “The Problem of Mass Incarceration”
3. Bishop Minerva Carcano – “The Dream Act and a Just Immigration Policy”
4. Dr. Norman Ornstein, American Enterprise Institute – “It’s Even Worse Than it Looks, but There is a Way Forward”
5. James Carroll – “Toward a Civil Society”

The goal of this interfaith conference series is to educate those in our communities about critical, ethical issues of our time and inspire attendees to take their own actions in pursuit of a better society
